New Rules on this blog

After two years of getting slammed by cowardly anonymous commenters, I have decided to use comment moderation. I will no longer allow vicious, unintelligent, cowardly attacks on me and my family.

There may be negative attacks on me, so long as they are not vicious and they do not deal with disgusting things, like the cowardly commenter who loves to post about feces. What a sicko!

To those who say comment moderation will stifle communication, I will tell you it will not. As soon as you post, it is sent to my blackberry and I can simply accept it or reject it within 5 seconds. If it is an anonymous comment that is intelligent and has something to do with a coherent thought, idea, or has something to add to the BLOG TOPIC at hand, I will most certainly post it. But, if it is a comment that is nothing but an INSULT, then adios muchacho!

That's right, set it the way you want. Anon commenter(s) hide only because they can't handle being recognized or seen for their actions. Shoots let it be known if you have something, say to the face and hide behind a bush. I agree with what you are doing, this is your blog, your online diary open to public, so why not control it the way you want to?

Peace.

About time you did this.

Ed, Forget about idiots posting and don't quit, this is an election year.

We have no blogs here. Lil and Glenn are gone, MR has quit, Wendy only blogs one topic, and the CNMI hasn't recovered or been revitalized yet.

Stick to great topics like TINA"S OGA WIN.

SAVE THE HOMELAND...VOTE

Tina for Senate
Cruz for Senate

as long as you are faster at posting them than the MV which takes sometimes 4 hours or longer before they are posted.
I will also reaffirm the sentiment of Teacher. Keep this blog alive.

You will always be targeted by spineless cowards. Black-burying them isn't going to change that.

Encouraging that Greg is openly touted as a senatorial pick in the same (well, almost) sentence as Tina these days. Doing so brought instant villification not so long ago. First time I suggested it somebody recommended I be beaten, but the fact is the one can't succeed without the other.

Teacher's right. Public discourse has gone dead here. MVariety blocked 26 of my comments (and failed to respond to 26 of my emails) before finally allowing one tepid offering in support of Tina's OGA victory yesterday morning. I notice they won't publish comments critical of Flame Sako, Joyner, Del Rosario and crew getting caught with their pants down in Marpi, or anything to do with non-resident labor issues.

Seems like Captain's got the style that works on their forum. He's good at getting his point across without cynicism or acrimony, but geez I miss the wide open format they used to run. Best thing that happened to Saipan in a long time.

However, that "wide open" style frequently resulted in grave offenses against charity.

Hence, on balance, it may not have been improving our community, as is usually the case when the First Amendment is exercised responsibly.

Seems the local saipanblogosphere needs to take a break. Some are burned out. Take a break and come back with guns blazing in the two months prior to the election!
What ever happened to Ms.D ?

She got tired of the excessive focus on the identity of posters rather than the content of posts.

There were and still are a few commenters who obsessively tout their "unique insight" into the identity of posters with almost every response, to the point that civility vanishes and blogging loses its appeal.

Also, the moniker was a testament to the civility of a blog whose owner has put it on a hiatus or perhaps lengthier closure, so there is less occasion to use that particular user name.

Perhaps she's enjoying a brief vacation this summer?

Ms. D. enjoy your vacation. I do miss your civility. Check in more often.
Ed congrats on the family extension.
